subyssgoeita: (ahhh)
I'm coming to the end of my time in sixth form (and also the end of university applications in January) and I've been thinking. Do I really want to go straight from sixth form to university? I don't really have a lot to say on this but, I have no idea. I went straight from HS to sixth form, which I honestly believe was (and is for the majority of people) the right choice, but after doing 2 years of constant studying to the point of not having free time to really do anything I'm not excited to move straight into university for 3 years of constant studying and then 1 year of in field placement (most likely with also constant studying) after just a 6 week break. I'd probably go a bit crazy. Besides, I need to get my drivers license sorted out, with driving tests being :| placement wise with my exams. Also, don't get me started on my Uni applications because they're not going well, I have no idea what to put on my personal statement RAUGHH (any advice would be delicious).

But also, I have no idea what I'm going to do if I take a gap year. I'm not one to go travelling, or to ask my family for that kind of money, but I'd like to focus more so on my art and also just relaxing tbf, as well as volunteering or doing something that'd bump up my personal statement. I'd honestly have to look more into it before I truly decided, if anything I'd take the break just to get a job and do driving shit.

1. Sixth form
I hate sixth form, but specifically Biology. Why? Because we have to do the edexcel exam board and the questions are horrendous. I have no direct examples because looking at the question inspire rage in me, but for a paraphasing example there'll be questions asking and worded the same way but one question wants you to talk about the first half of, I don't know, enzymes, and then the next question which is the exact same wants you to talk about another aspect of enzymes
Without any prompting. because it's edexcel and fuck you thats why.
Atleast with chemistry (which I was terribly failing until my new teacher) I can understand where I went wrong because it was AQA which gives clear questions, and now once I actually know the topics I can get Bs and As.
Also the year 12s get to do AQA whilst the year 13s(me) don't because even the teachers hate this stupid exam board. Yay.
